If you are unable to attend one of our classes because either the day or time does not suit you or if you prefer one to one lessons or you have concerns about your dog’s behaviour then Island Canines can offer one to one training on a day and time to suit you.
One to one obedience training can include:
Sits, Down, Stands, Stays, Lead-walking, recalls, clicker training, a refresher course or even adding new ideas and behaviours to your dog's previous training.
If you want to complete one of our courses but can’t make the day or time then you can complete the course on a one to one basis at a time to suit you. This can also be booked for 2 dogs and owners at the same time so you can share the course/cost with a friend.
Dave’s extensive knowledge and experience as a Trainer and Behaviourist will help you with the following:
Separation Anxiety - A dog that cannot be left alone. They may cry, bark, howl and generally get distressed.
House Training - If you are having trouble completely house-training your dog.
Dog to Dog or Dog to Human aggression. Dave has spent many years specialising in aggression issues and over reactivity.
Excessive Barking - is your dog's barking at home, at other dogs or people excessive?
Insecurity - Does your dog follow you everywhere?
Do you have a rescue dog either from a rescue centre or that you have taken from a friend who couldn't cope and need help in understanding what they now need from you. For 20 years we ran the dog rescue side of an animal charity which included taking dogs in from their old homes, fostering and rehabilitation/training if needed to help them to be ready for their new forever homes.
Do you have a nervous/fearful dog who is having trouble coping with everyday life? We can help.
Does your dog behave like a maniac around the front door? Do you find visitor's coming in a challenge?
These are just a few examples of the many problems that you may be having. Island Canines will help you to understand why your dog is behaving as it is and show you how to work on helping your dog and stopping the problem.
A one to one training session will last between 1 - 3 hours depending on what is required and won't always require further visits. Written instructions to remind you of what was covered in the session will be given. You can be assured of our life long support, advice and understanding.
