6-week Foundation Course

Our Foundation Course is a 6-week course and is for any dog of 14-weeks of age onwards.  If you have never been training, have been to puppy classes with us or another training school, adopted a rescue dog or have an older dog that would benefit from positive and gentle training then this is the ideal course for you.

 The Foundation Course covers all the behaviours that will allow your dog to develop the necessary skills needed to be well mannered members of the society they live in, remain sociable and give you the ability to enjoy and live in harmony with your dog therefore enhancing the bond and relationship between you. 

We take a maximum of 6 dogs on the Foundation Course to ensures that you will be given the maximum personal attention and support that you and your dog deserve.  This Course is held in the hall and in the attached grounds which gives the opportunity of working  with the distractions of an outside environment.

As with all of our classes we welcome and positively encourage the whole family to come along as consistency is certainly the key to successful training. 

The 6 week Foundation Course will cover: 

• An Attention Exercise  
•  Settle 
• Sit 
• Down
• Stay  
• Leadwalking  
• Recall
• Leave it
• How to stop jumping up
• The importance of your dog being able to be “handled” 
• How to start removing the need for treats (food)
•  Socialisation/Interaction with the other dogs in your class  
•  good manners 
•  Working towards achieving the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme (optional)
• You will be given an information pack & weekly work sheets
